Fulvio D’Acquisto (ORCID ID 0000-0002-4513-1608) is the scientific co-founder of Karla Therapeutics. He is a pharmacologist and an immunologist with a long research interest in the design and identification of new immunomodulatory therapies. His recent research endeavours have shifted towards the exploration of the interplay between emotions and immunity, forging new frontiers in translational research. Fulvio’s research career encompasses academic and research roles spanning the USA, Europe, and Japan. Notably, he was an early recipient of the New Investigator Award of the Medical Research Council in the UK. With a scholarly portfolio exceeding 100 publications, he actively contributes to the Editorial Boards of 8 international peer-reviewed journals and serves as a panel member for national and international research funding agencies.
